Halef – Episode 34, Part 2
Opening: Family Conflicts and Health Emergencies
The episode begins with emotional confrontations. Nida tells Aser that she cannot raise their children, implying a deep marital crisis. Meanwhile, a child named Renaz collapses while playing football. His family panics, rushing him to the hospital. His father, Aşir, later learns from the doctor that Renaz has leukemia (blood cancer). The doctor says they will try to save him, but the news devastates the family.
The Wedding Preparation and Serhat’s Ultimatum to His Mother
Serhat confronts his mother, Sultan, about her past schemes. He reveals that he knows she conspired with Ayten Hanım (Yıldız’s mother) to send Yıldız to Istanbul without his knowledge, which nearly cost Yıldız’s life – just as it cost his own mother’s life (referring to Ayten’s death). Serhat is furious. He tells Sultan that she will now pay the price: she herself will prepare the wedding and the religious marriage ceremony for him and Yıldız, and she will be their witness. He decides that the religious marriage (imam nikah) will take place that very evening, without any delay. Sultan is shocked but has no choice.
The Religious Marriage Ceremony
That evening, the imam conducts the nikah ceremony. Sultan is forced to be a witness. The imam asks the ritual questions, and both Serhat and Yıldız say “I accept.” Sultan also confirms she is a witness. The ceremony is brief but emotional. After the nikah, Serhat gives Yıldız a gift: a piece of land from the Yeldirenler family, telling her she can choose whatever she wants. However, Yıldız refuses the land, saying she only needs him. She asks for peace and happiness in the mansion, not material things.
Melek’s Revenge and Blackmail
Melek, still pregnant with Serhat’s child, is furious. She feels that her parents’ murderers have not been punished. She locks herself in a room and refuses to come out. Her mother tries to calm her, telling her that such ambition is not good for her or the baby. Melek declares that she will take revenge: since Serhat and Yıldız turned her life into hell, she will turn their happiest day into hell as well.
Melek then confronts Ziyan Ağa (the elder leader). She accuses him of not delivering justice. She reveals that she has obtained evidence: Meryem Hanım (Yıldız’s mother) confessed to her crimes, and there are recordings. Melek blackmails Ziyan, saying that if he does not put Meryem in prison for killing her parents, she will not keep her promise – her child will not be raised in the mansion’s courtyard. She gives Ziyan until the next day to act.
The Confrontation with Akif and Nurgül
Yıldız reveals a shocking truth to Serhat: his brother Akif was the one who kidnapped Melek and wanted to abort her baby. Serhat is enraged. He confronts Akif and attacks him. His mother and others try to stop him. Serhat then gives Akif and Nurgül an ultimatum: they must leave the mansion by noon the next day. They are expelled. Nurgül tries to fight back, but Yıldız – now transformed into a “merciless star” – warns her that there will be no more forgiveness. She declares that the era of trusting friends and fearing enemies has begun.
Side Stories: Kevser’s Online Dating and the Child’s Illness
There is a subplot involving Kevser, who has installed a dating app and claims she has already matched with someone. She plans to find an Istanbul man – tall, handsome, well-spoken like her. The other women tease her, warning her about the dangers of the virtual world.
Meanwhile, Ortak confides in someone about his son Remzi, who is very ill. Doctors have mentioned stem cells and compatibility. Ortak is terrified of losing his child. He asks for help in reviewing the medical reports.
The Final Scene: Melek’s Ultimatum to Serhat
In the final confrontation, Melek confronts Serhat directly. She has the evidence against Meryem. She tells Serhat that just as Kenan (Ayten’s killer) is in prison thanks to him, so must Meryem – the killer of her parents – be imprisoned. She gives him until the next day to act. If he does not, she will not keep her word, and her child will not be raised in the mansion. She even suggests that Serhat might then have to bring another woman or hand over his leadership to his brother Akif.
The episode ends with Serhat in distress, saying “No” repeatedly. He says: “I cannot put one in the grave and the other in prison.” But Melek’s ultimatum hangs over him.
