YOU ARE MY LOVE – EPISODE 15 PART 1
Title: The Lost Sister – Memory, Guilt, and the Path to Reunion
Summary of the Episode
The first part of Episode 15 opens with a highly emotional and tense scene. Dicle, a young woman, has just discovered that her long-lost sister is alive. The news is delivered by Erkan, a man who seems to be her brother or close relative. The revelation comes after years of believing that her sister, Derya (whose real name is later revealed to be Feride), had died. Erkan shows Dicle a death certificate, explaining that a friend at the hospital helped him find Derya. However, the truth is far more complicated.
Dicle’s sister is not dead. She is alive and living under a new identity: Feride, a teacher who works at a women’s association. Feride has no memory of her past. Years ago, she was brutally abused—her bones were broken, her skull fractured. When she was found, she had no memory of who she was or where she came from. The trauma was so severe that her mind erased everything.
Erkan explains to Dicle: “She has suffered greatly. She doesn’t remember anything about her past. When they found her, not a single bone was left unbroken. Even her skull was cracked.” He warns Dicle that revealing the truth will not be easy. Feride does not want to remember her family. She has built a new life for herself among the women at the association, and she has made peace with her amnesia.
Character Roles and Motivations
Dicle – The protagonist. She is a young woman who has spent years believing her sister was dead. She is desperate to reunite with her sibling, but she is also terrified. When she learns that her sister is alive, she breaks down. Her goal is to reconnect with Feride and help her remember their shared past. However, she is also afraid of being rejected. She asks Erkan, “How will I stand in front of her? What will I say?”
Feride (formerly Derya) – The lost sister. She is now a teacher and a respected figure at a women’s association. She has no memory of her past, and she does not want to remember. She tells Dicle, “I don’t want to remember my family. I only want to remember that farm, to save those women. I hope Allah has mercy on me and that I never remember what came before.” Her pain is palpable. She has built a new identity to survive.
Erkan – The brother (or close male relative) of Dicle and Feride. He has known the truth for some time but kept it secret, fearing that their abusive father (Ferman) would find out. He reveals to Dicle that he recognized Feride by a burn scar on her arm. He explains that he could not tell her because he was afraid of Ferman. Dicle confronts him with years of bottled-up anger: “When I learned my sister was alive, I never got angry at you for lying to me for years. I never resented you for causing me and my mother the pain of a lost child. But today I see that while you hid the truth, only my mother and I cried. My sister was left alone in this city. She fell into the hands of her executioners. She thought she had no family to look for her.”
Ferman – The abusive father (referred to as “Ferman Aga” or “the muhtar”). He is the source of the family’s trauma. It is implied that he physically abused Dicle and others. Erkan kept the secret of Feride’s survival specifically to protect her from Ferman. Dicle says, “While Ferman Aga beat me for years, I never resented you, brother, for not protecting me. But today I see…”
Civan and Nilüfer – A romantic subplot. Civan is in love with Nilüfer, but Nilüfer is afraid to acknowledge their relationship publicly. She has been seen with Civan, and her family is suspicious. Civan pushes for marriage, saying, “Either marriage or separation. There is no other option.” Nilüfer is torn between her love for Civan and her fear of her family’s judgment. Their storyline provides a lighter contrast to the main drama.
Aybars, Fikret, Musa, Zübeyir – Minor characters who work for the family or are involved in investigating the farm where women are being held captive. They represent the broader world of crime and corruption that Feride is trying to fight.
The Central Conflict: The Farm and the Captive Women
Feride is not just trying to recover her past; she is actively working to shut down a farm where women are being held as prisoners. She wants to remember the location of the farm so she can save them. This is her only motivation for wanting to remember anything at all. She tells Dicle, “I only want to remember that farm, to save those women.”
Erkan and Dicle decide to help her. They gather information and learn that a man named Turgut is connected to the farm. Fikret, one of their contacts, finds an address. Erkan sends a man named Musa to scout the area, warning, “We don’t know what Erkan might do.”
How Part 1 Ends
The episode ends on a cliffhanger. Erkan and his brother (possibly named Yiğit) drive to the farm to investigate. They enter the property cautiously, unsure if anyone is inside. They hear noises and see movement. Erkan tells his brother to stay close. They find evidence that the farm is actively being used.
Suddenly, they are discovered. Men with guns force them inside. They see women who appear to be prisoners—one of them is named Nazlı. The captors say, “We brought you to the boss. Zübeyir will like the merchandise very much.”
Feride, who has accompanied them, begins to have fragmented memories. She says, “I remembered something.” But before she can explain, chaos erupts. A fight breaks out. Erkan and his brother are beaten. One of the captors is killed. In the confusion, they manage to free some of the women.
The final scene shows the group escaping, but the danger is far from over. The boss (Zübeyir) is still out there, and the farm operation is still running. Feride looks back at the building, her mind flooded with images she cannot fully grasp.
The episode closes with a sense of fragile hope. Dicle has found her sister. Feride has begun to remember. But the path to healing—and to justice—is only just beginning.
