DAHA 17 – Episode 1 Part 2
What Happens in Part 2
This second part deepens the emotional and psychological conflicts introduced earlier. It shifts from school drama to family secrets, street chases, and the first real clue about Aras’s lost brother.
1. Inside Deniz’s Family – Class Differences and Parental Pressure
We enter the modest home of Deniz, Aras’s new friend. His mother is frustrated with him. She compares Deniz to Leyla Akkaya, who wants to become a doctor, and angrily asks: “What the hell will you do with your life?” Deniz’s father defends him, showing warmth. When Deniz mentions that Aras has no family and lives in a dormitory, his mother softens immediately, revealing that her harshness comes from love and worry, not cruelty.
2. The Phone Call – A Breakthrough in Aras’s Search
At the dormitory, the director confiscates Aras’s phone as punishment. While Aras fights to get it back, the phone suddenly rings. It is the mysterious man who left the note at the bus station! The man gives Aras an address and then hangs up. Aras is shaken. For the first time, he has a real lead.
3. Aras vs. Teoman – The Power Struggle Escalates
On the football field, Teoman humiliates a younger student. Aras defends him. Teoman threatens Aras directly, saying: “I will make you kneel before me.” Aras does not back down, replying: “Try it. If you succeed, then we’ll talk.” Teoman also warns Aras to stay away from his sister, Leyla.
4. The Chase – Ferhat the Porter
With Metin’s help, Aras finds Ferhat, the one-eyed porter who left the phone and note. Aras confronts him, demanding to know who sent him. Ferhat denies everything and runs away. A tense street chase follows, but Ferhat escapes.
5. A Chance Encounter with Hakan Akkaya
While heading to the mysterious address, Aras jumps into the road and is almost hit by a luxury car. The driver is Hakan Akkaya – Teoman and Leyla’s father. Instead of getting angry, Hakan respects Aras’s courage and gives him a ride. They have a meaningful conversation. Hakan says: “I like people like you. You stood up straight without crying.”
6. The Address – The Old Woman and the Locket
Aras reaches the address. Inside, he finds an old woman who seems confused. She mistakes Aras for someone else. She hands him a golden locket and says: “Don’t lose this locket again. Your father said: if we lose these, we will never find each other again.”
Aras recognizes the locket immediately. It matches exactly the one from his childhood flashback. This is the first concrete proof that he is on the right path.
7. Police Chase and Escape
As Aras, Deniz, and Metin leave the house, police spot them. They panic and run. Deniz shouts “Three, two, one – run!” They split up. Aras runs toward the police station by mistake and is caught. Deniz and Metin escape.
8. The Police Station – Barış’s Arrest
At the police station, we learn that another teenager, Barış (the captain’s son), has also been arrested for driving without a license. He was with Leyla and someone else. Teoman immediately assumes the third person is Aras and says: “He is corrupting everyone.”
9. Jealousy and Family Secrets
At the Akkaya home, Teoman accuses Leyla of liking Aras. Leyla denies it. Their parents, Hakan and Åžebnem, intervene. Hakan reveals he met Aras and says: “He is a mature boy with character. I appreciated him.” Teoman becomes furious. Åžebnem then pulls Hakan aside and says: “Stop bringing up the past. Teoman was just a child. We have been doing well for a long time. Don’t ruin everything.”
This suggests the family hides a dark secret involving Teoman’s childhood.
